Heather Maloney, "EXIT: this way out?"
This beautiful Miami-grown "heady mover" who is now working out of New York City brings us a new work in progress that spills over with challenges and observations in a beloved personal style. Which is the direction to surrender? Where is the edge of love? What will time diagnose? In this new work Heather teams up with Miami-based composer/musician Alfredo Triff and his musical collaborator Alex Berti provide the live sound score for this work.
". . . Maloney has a delicious physical fluency and the ability to create a different reality onstage."
Jordan Levin , The Miami Herald
Alfredo Triff & Alex Berti
Alfredo and Alex start the evening with their own compositions. Alfredo Triff's music borrows from avant-garde, Afro-Cuban and minimal sources to create eclectic moods. He's played with musicians such as Don Pullen, Sting, Jack Bruce, Kip Hanrahan and Arnaldo Antunes among others. His album 21 Broken Melodies got Best New CD of the Year from Vibrations Magazine and "one of the best" from Billboard.com. He is currently finishing his third CD. Alex Berti was a bass player with the Venezuelan Symphony Orchestra and played with Milton Mustafa and at Titanic with his jazz trio. A composer and teacher, Berti presently conducts the Kids' Village Symphony Orchestra, a performance music project for minority children in South Florida.
