Geniuses collide as iconic guitarist Bill Frisell and his quartet play original compositions to a fantastic and eclectic collection of short films. Mixing classic slapstick from Buster Keaton, surrealist animations from Jim Woodring, and Bill Morrison’s hallucinatory reconstituting of the 1926 film The Mesmerist, Frisell and his group adds a wonderful live musical score that creates a not-to-be-missed magical event. Frisell is one of the most sought-after guitar voices in contemporary music, having previously collaborated with John Zorn, Elvis Costello, The Los Angeles Philharmonic, Loudon Wainwright III, Rickie Lee Jones, Bono and Brian Eno, among others. Two-time Grammy Award-winner Bill Frisell has also twice been named Downbeat magazine's "Guitarist of the Year." "[Frisell's music is] warm, fluid, generous, humanistic, transformational
and redemptive—a dream of a musical democracy in which all music, no matter where
it comes from, is rendered gorgeously and benignly and heartbreakingly and hauntingly
dreamlike." Bill Frisell's performance was funded in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, in partnership with the Southern Arts Federation and the State of Florida.
