"True handicaps come only from the mind, the limits we place on ourselves. We can do anything, our community is everywhere." —Sidiki Conde

This half-day forum is part of the danceAble program which takes place from June 25 - 29 within the Florida Dance Festival. It is designed for dancers, other artists, arts presenters, educators, and those who live with disabilities or work with the disabled community. The forum is a unique opportunity to share challenges and successes with South Florida, national and international leaders in the field of mixed ability arts. This year the focus is on the multiple identities of artists with disabilities – including race, ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation – and the particular challenges of access, representation and alliance-building across communities.

danceAble is a collaborative project of the Florida Dance Association and Tigertail Productions that began in 2000. It focuses on dance as a vital art form and a fundamental means of physical expression for persons with and without disabilities.
