TIGERTAIL PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS
Compagnie Marie Chouinard
Acclaimed Montréal dance company

"SAVAGE AND INFINITELY REFINED...

TERRIFYING, EXHILARATING, MYSTERIOUS, IMMEDIATE..."
- THE VILLAGE VOICE

This internationally acclaimed dance company from Quebec makes its Miami premiere with two exuberant, physical pieces that embody Marie Chouinard's signature style. 24 Preludes by Chopin uses the composer's music as inspiration to create a work that bridges classical form with Chouinard's startlingly angular and undulating choreography, or in her own words, "forbidden games sculpted by light."

Chorale is an erotically charged and visceral work—almost tribal in tone—that channels the body's primal emotions through beautifully vibrant and deeply physical sound and movement.

Now a fixture on the world's major stages and at international festivals, the Compagnie Marie Chouinard has its roots in Chouinard's solo work, which began back in 1978. Her work has earned her a reputation for daring originality and she went on to form her own dance company in 1990. Through her choreography, Chouinard has explored the "poetics of the body" in immediate, intelligible and ever-surprising ways.

Please note that these performances include brief nudity.

"Marie Chouinard is a gifted choreographer guaranteed to send shivers shooting up your spine"
