This year WordSpeak addresses "What is American?"

YOU give our 6-member team the six weeks of rehearsal time with an astounding coach. YOU help Tigertail send our teen spoken word team WordSpeak/SpeakOut to Brave New Voices (BNV), the Olympics of spoken word poetry, held this year in Washington, DC, July 12-16, 2016. YOU give teens with limited financial resources scholarship support so that they can be on the team.

YOU help Tigertail reach over 1000 local youth involved in WordSpeak and our LGBTQ SpeakOut project, life impacting learning experiences with opportunities to create, imagine and achieve. By tapping into their individual power and voice, teens learn how to be valuable citizens.

• One full team member scholarship, travel & housing to Brave New Voices - $1,500
• One team member scholarship - $1,000
• Round trip air transportation and housing for one teen - $300
• Transportation to rehearsals for one teen for six weeks - $250
• Project supplies - $100
• Per diem for a teen at BNV - $50
